SUSTAINABILITY

Reducing our impact

At Page Bros Group, sustainability is our priority in every aspect of the printing process, from the paper we use, to the inks we choose.

Working with us, you can choose from a wide range of FSC®-certified paper stocks for your next eco-friendly print project. As a policy, we always try to buy FSC®-certified papers. We ensure a chain of custody that documents and records the source of the timber/pulp through to the printed product and downstream to the client.

Our continual equipment and machinery upgrade programme has boosted our energy efficiency. Converting to energy-saving LED lighting has reduced our energy usage. We also service our premises, plant and equipment consistently to ensure all the moving parts of our business are as efficient as possible.

Our printing inks are vegetable oil/water-based. Platemaking is a water-based process, and our five colour press has a zero carbon footprint. Once printing is complete, we send all waste paper to UK processing mills for recycling. All general waste is incinerated to make power.

We believe sustainability is not just an ideal, but is our ongoing commitment to the environment and the communities we serve.

FSC®

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) promotes environmentally sustainable, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s largest forests.

They aim to meet the social, ecological and economic rights and needs of the current indigenous people without compromising those of future generations.

Forest management is designed to conserve biological diversity, water resources, soils and fragile ecosystems, so as to maintain the ecological functions and integrity of the forest.

We are FSC® certified and are audited annually to ensure compliance.

Corporate & social responsibility

We see our corporate responsibility as a duty to provide an environment in which our people are engaged, trained to broaden their skills, and enjoy real job satisfaction.

We strive to develop a team spirit, with high morale and involvement. Our management style is transparent – we want everyone to know where we’re going, and how they can help us get there. Everyone’s contribution is valued.

Our staff are reviewed, encouraged and supported as part of a continuous progress, not as a legal necessity. They are rewarded, because they achieve.

We work hard at creating a good place for people to work. And that includes making it a safe environment.
