Just in time for Christmas, we produced ‘The Magic Bookshop’ by Alan Rusbridger to celebrate the birth of his grandson, Laith.
The Magic Bookshop tells the story of Peter Puddle and his bookshop in Polkington. Doomed to close after a supermarket moves into the town, he hatches a plan to save his shop—and like all good plans, it involves magic.
Ukrainian artist Oksana Volkovska vividly brings the magical story to life with bright and joyful illustrations featuring a cast of fairy tale favourites.
Designer Chris Tilbury has typeset the book using Altform, a contemporary sans-serif font from CoType™ Foundry. Chosen for its clarity and legibility, Altform makes the story easy to follow for children of all ages.
Rusbridger has dedicated this book to Laith and has written him into the story. He is excited for him to read it when he is older.
